An Environment of Safety, Acceptance, and Hope.

Established in 2015, the Recovery and Wellness Center of Eastern Washington is the area’s first treatment facility that provides Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs for the treatment of Eating Disorders. It remains the only treatment center with this level of care in a 250-mile radius. In addition to our Eating Disorder programs, we provide some of the only Intensive Outpatient group therapy programs for depression and anxiety in the area.

Recovery in mind since 2015.

    Approach:

“It is my great pleasure to get to be a part of each patient’s experience at Recovery and Wellness Center of Eastern Washington from the time they call to the day they graduate from recovery, through administrative work, insurance advocacy, group work, and coaching. I believe so deeply in the process of recovery, meeting each person where they’re at, and learning how we can support them in their recovery process. It’s important to me to learn about each individual, their thinking patterns, behaviors, and feelings, and learn how we can work together to best address and gradually change these behaviors in a way that makes each person feel heard, challenged, and celebrated. Though the road is not easy, and reaching out can be an intimidating first step, I am continually amazed by the beautiful reality that living a recovered life is possible!”

Counseling Approach: “I approach counseling from a cognitive-behavioral perspective, recognizing and processing patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behavioral responses to improve a client’s understanding of their struggle and to develop solutions. I also utilize techniques of expressive/art therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, choice therapy, solution-focused therapy, experiential therapy, trauma-focused CBT, and EMDR. I see counseling as a process in which the client and I build rapport to trust one another in a safe environment and then engage in recognition of problem behaviors and/or functioning, identify goals that provide correction or solution to these problems, and practice positive changes that allow the client to achieve goals to live and maintain a more fulfilled life. I work with clients through individual, group, and family therapy, as well as conducting assessments throughout their participation in therapy services as needed.”

  • Education:

Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

    Walden University in Minneapolis, MN

    Counseling Approach:

“My approach to counseling is primarily influenced by the cognitive-behavioral perspective. This centers around examining the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are present in the client’s life and working to identify and replace unhelpful or disordered patterns, which will lead to growth and positive change. I also utilize techniques of rational emotive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy. I believe the client to be the expert in their own life and an integral figure in navigating the counseling process and achieving their goals. Establishing a therapeutic alliance between client and clinician with a foundation in safety and trust is an essential piece in creating an environment where struggles and obstacles can be shared honestly and free of judgment.”

  • Education:

    Doctor of Medical Science

    Approach:

I have been a practicing certified physician assistant for more than 10 years. I love working with individuals with eating disorders and being part of the healing process with their relationship toward food, movement, and their body. My objective as an eating disorder professional is to help my patients mindfully nourish their bodies, move in a way they enjoy, and be fully engaged in life. I believe in listening to patients and providing compassionate care. I enjoy educating others about the positive health effects of adequate nutrition, movement, and positive coping skills.

At Recovery and Wellness Center of Eastern Washington, we work as a multidisciplinary treatment team of therapists, registered dietitians, eating disorder coaches, and medical professionals to provide comprehensive care. I also strive to collaborate with outpatient providers and connect with patients’ family and supports, who are all important allies for recovery.

I practice evidence-based medicine to provide the highest quality of care, working closely with a functional medicine physician and a certified eating disorder specialist. Individuals with eating disorders have often experienced a lack of understanding from healthcare professionals. I endeavor to build a safe medical environment and help patients advocate for themselves in other healthcare settings. I speak and educate about eating disorders to those in the medical field. I also have a special interest in caring for the neurodiverse.

    Doctorate of Nursing Practice

    Approach:

“I am an advanced registered nurse practitioner who sees patients at Recovery and Wellness Center of Eastern Washington. The cornerstone of my practice is developing relationships with clients and their support system to provide patient-centered, evidenced-based care that fits each person’s unique lifestyle and needs. I hope every patient leaves their visit feeling informed, empowered, and understood.”

  • Education:

Master of Dietetic Administration at Utah State University

My approach focuses on challenging harmful diet culture and weight stigma messages while helping clients develop a peaceful relationship with food. I support the journey from rigid rules and anxiety to flexible, balanced eating patterns. By cultivating mindful choices without obsession, clients can rediscover food as a source of nourishment and joy rather than stress. When we heal our relationship with food, we free up energy to focus on what truly matters.

  • Education:

Bachelor’s in Sociology – Whitworth University

Master’s in Social Work – Walla Walla University

Level 1 Gottman Method Couples Therapy Certification

As a therapist, I primarily employ techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy. CBT recognizes that thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected and often cyclical in nature. When the cycle is interrupted or adjusted, the outcome can be entirely different—whether that be a behavioral change leading to improved thought life or improved thoughts leading to more balanced/healthy behavior. In addition, I draw skills from dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, experiential therapy, and art therapy.

  • Education:

Master of Social Work: University of Hawaii

I prioritize creating a safe and supportive environment in counseling, enabling clients to recognize and process their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This enhances their understanding of challenges and aids in developing effective solutions. I use various therapeutic techniques in individual, group, and family therapy for clients of all ages and backgrounds. Counseling is a collaborative journey where we build rapport, allowing us to identify problematic behaviors, set goals, share struggles, and implement positive changes. This approach empowers clients to achieve their goals and lead fulfilling lives.

Additionally, I have undertaken further training in trauma-informed care and hold a certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy+ for the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. I have also earned certification in dialectical behavior therapy within educational settings.

I believe that clients possess the ability to learn and evolve from their experiences while exploring the impact and significance they have on their overall well-being in various aspects of life. As a therapist, I strive to create a safe and supportive space where we can together increase awareness of any limiting beliefs or patterns, and work toward positive changes that can lead to a more fulfilling life experience.
